About the roleThe Environmental Health Officer role is responsible for providing customer focused services to the community ensuring high levels of public health and safety are maintained in accordance with relevant legislation and community expectations. The Environmental Health Officer will work closely with the Team Leader Building & Environmental Health and Senior Environmental Health Officer. As part of a team of 3 highly experienced and professional Environmental Health Officers you will be primarily focused on investigation and enforcement of alleged breaches of relevant legislation relating to environmental safety.Functions of the role are varied and include working with residents from all backgrounds to address minor concerns to undertaking formal investigation and enforcement actions to resolve complex environmental breaches. The role is targeted at maintaining an environment and community awareness that preserves and enhances the public health, welfare and amenity of the community by ensuring that relevant statutory requirements are met and community education and awareness programs are delivered.The role offers outstanding conditions of employment and benefits designed to attract and retain the best people.
